Hotel Draken is located next to Järntorget, in the center of a district with its own distinct character. The area embodies the mixed-use urban model that has become a planning ideal in recent years. Here, shops, workplaces, public services like libraries and cultural centers, cultural industries, and housing coexist in an active, varied environment. Unlike other parts of the city, the area has a rougher charm, with large retail and restaurant chains replaced by a wide range of smaller, independent businesses.

Across the river, clearly visible from Draken, lies Lindholmen, a hub for technological innovation closely connected to Chalmers University of Technology and major automotive companies such as Volvo and Geely.

At the top of the hotel, on the 33rd and 34th floors, Brasserie Draken offers a view over these two distinct city districts, Gothenburg’s skyline, and the harbor entrance. The space features a seven-meter ceiling height, giving it a spacious and imposing atmosphere. The interior design has been influenced by the room’s generous proportions, with a two-story wooden wall featuring an intarsia-like pattern, serving as a backdrop to blue shelving units and soft green velvet sofas, reflected in the polished metal ceiling. The result is a brasserie with expansive views of Gothenburg.
