Gurras is a restaurant in Gothenburg run by Gustav Trägårdh, a renowned chef who has previously been named Chef of the Year and run the star restaurant Sjömagasinet.

The interior is made up of a number of objects in solid materials. An undulating solid wood wall runs as a backdrop throughout the restaurant. The open kitchen, surrounded by granite blocks, is the restaurant’s stage. Here, food is cooked over an open fire. The furniture is made of steel, leather and wood. A large round piece of fabric acts as a windbreak in the entrance, a gate that leads into the restaurant.

The rough-hewn feel of the set objects, articulating the character of each material, creates a play between the new additions and the finely tuned original details of the 1902 building.
